When the module connects to the network the led should blink about once every 3 seconds.

Use the command "AT+CREG?" to get the network registration status. This will tell you if the module is searching, registered, or if registration has been denied. If you have a good signal and cannot register, it may be that no cell is available for your provider (home or roaming), or your SIM card may be invalid. For example, if you are using a 'pre-paid' plan and there is no money in the account your registration will be denied.
