Hiiii,
Im working on sim908 and wanted to know if 9V supply with 1Amp is okay???
i earlier had used adapter wid ratings of 12V bt the modem used to heat up very quickly....so is 9v okay???Also i checked wid 5V ....the leds wer not glowing much....

pls help me or else i myt burn up dis modem tooo

The power supply to the modem module is specified as 3.2 to 4.8 V. You surely don't want to supply 9 or 12 V directly to the module.

The reference circuit in the hardware manual uses a LM2596-ADJ switching regulator in front of the module.

but den wen i gv it 5v it was not working well.....doesnt the modem convert the gvn 9v to 3.2-4.8v???

i was asking wat voltage to be supplied to the entire modem....not the module.....

The picture has a USB socket and if that is the only power connection then the input voltage is 5 Volts.

Cheers.
