I have a project with SILVACO's Atlas simulator, where I have a PIN photodetector with applied voltage from 1.0 to -1.0, and it is working all good, but when I add the beam command line, the current does not change, I think maybe the beam line is perhaps wrong and I would like someone to analyse it. The command I've been using is the following:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
interface optical ar.index=1.5 ar.thick=0.280 p1.x=0 p1.y=0 p2.x=9 p2.y=0
interface optical ar.index=2.0 ar.thick=2.0 ar.thick=0.050 coating=1 layer=2
beam num=1 x.origin=4.5 y.origin=-5.0 angle=90.0 wavelength=.4
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi HalexHarter,

Your beam statement is OK, but it shall be aligned with your PIN diode structure.
Top metal layer is considered as non-transparent in Silvaco simulation.
