Should I use Matlab or C++ for assigning parameter along one direction periodically

please i need to write a code to assine some parameter along one direction in a periodic manner

for example

in z direction we devide the distance into somr nomber of layer each layer take N1 or N2 in periodic manner
how can i assine this in program in matlab or c++
