Hello Everyone,

I am trying to make a Series LED circuit with AC mains directly(I know its not a good practice but due to cost).

I would Like to know

How to control the LED series ?

For example,

A button to control the ON/OFF timings
If I press once the LEDs flicker at a faster rate
If I press again the LEDs flicker with the rate a bit slower
.................. and so on

I dont want to use a microntroller

any other solutions
with Timers, Counters something which is CHEAP!!!!

I am attaching herewith the circuit and the module which I am talking about

I would Like to add when I cut open this small box in RED I found a masked IC and the part outside was written QD803-8. When i try to find the product. I dont get a perfect match nor I get their datasheets.

and and and I would like to add the box whci is inscribed in RED to the circuit on the left

Please Help.

Thanking you in anticipation.

Siddharth

You cannot change the flashing rate of the LEDs by just connecting the LEDs in series to the main. When you do so, the LEDs will turn ON/OFF 50 or 60 times every second - most probably, you will not see it flashing.
The box you marked in red contains a controller that changes the flashing frequency every time you press the button. This has to be done using a microcontroller, or some sort of PWM, Something that controls the rate of switching the LEDs ON/OFF.
