you will see that MPLAB accepts 0x?? or H'??' or h'??'
it is quite user friendly in its flexibility.
refer to PIC data sheet for Instruction List - 16FXXX only have 35 instructions and
most are slight variants on a theme.
MPLAB also accepts a set of pseudo (macro) instructions to save typing and brainwork - eg.:
lcall ?label? ... which calculates and sets page bit before a call.
pagesel $ ... which sets page bits to current code page after a long call.
