Are there software that allow you to simulate the charge distribution in the semiconductors?
I general, are there software that allow to simulate behave of different combination of semiconductor?
Generally referred to as TCAD, different tools will either
create a finite element mesh of doping and oxide features
from a process flow deck, or perform device electrical
simulations based on an input (2-D or 3-D) structure.
Some tools will pass the process simulator's output to
the device simulator's input ("some assembly required").
Synopsys and Silvaco are big names, there are versions
of some of the older tools that have been "released into
the wild" but you should not underestimate the "learning
curve" or how much effort / uncertainty / error that even
the most experienced user encounters.
I do not know, I recall "seeing it go past" as I was looking
for open source circuit simulation tools. I'd look for free
versions of PISCES, SUPREM, ATLAS, ATHENA - I think
it was one of those duos. But that's about all I can recall.
