self heterodyne method

Dear All,

I am doing a master degree project on Self heterodyne method for determining the linewidth of lasers.

I am trying to find the effect of various parameres such as fiber length, power, frequency shift, etc on the measurement of linewidth.

I have problems with curve fitting .....Lorentzian, gaussian and Voight profiles.

My intension is to find a way to reduce the fiber length used in the system

Pls send me some papers, articles related to this and especially on curve fitting.

I am using OPTSIM simulation tool. Is there any other simulation tool for optical systems?

Attached file shows the summary of what i have done so far. I need to extend this further. Any suggestions?

regards
