SC4000 discontinued ???

Philips has announced they will close their fab in SAN ANTONIO (Texas) at the end of the current year. This fab, formerly VLSI, manufacture a chip labeled SC4000 (time slot interchange).

We get some infos from one of our subcontractors, witch told us that this chip will be discontinued. Orders can be placed until April 28.

I have asked the question on Philips's web site last week : No answer until today.

Does somebody have more infos on the subject ? Will this chip be discontinued ???

Tnx
