we are using T-10 ferrite core with Al value 1900nH in driver transformer for electronics ballast. We have made 12&2 turns on it. do the inductance index changes with 12 turns. do the core operates in saturation with 12 turns?
Which is better, whether to measure the inductance across 2 turns or 12 turns.
The Al is an intrinsic value and does not change with the number of turns applied, for many turns the additional "air core" inductance will add to the overall inductance, measured inductance can vary if you are biasing the core with significant DC current, if the ampere-turns/mag path length are too great you will head into saturation.
