SATA dvd writer with MSI PT8 mother board

msi pt8 neo-v recognize sata

Dear friends;
my mother board is MSI PT8 Neo-V MS-7043 Ver:100. Now I have bought a sata LG DVD writer. when I connect it to my mother board and turn pc on, it doesn't recognize my DVD writer. Is it possible for me to use the dvd writer with this motherboard or it's SATA connectors are only for RAID cards? please say me what should I do if it id possible?
