i am working in UUV (Unmanned underwater vehicle) graduation project, i have a problem to choose communication media wire or wireless.

my question is can i use WiFi broadband on UUV to transmit video from IP camera to PC and receive control signal to arduino from PC ?? and witch better WiFi or Xbee ??

Go with wired..

Water attenuates RF more than air because the dielectric constant and leakage conductance is far greater. Water is 60~80x air thus shunting the signals more rapidly.

The Navy uses VLF from 10~25kHz for communication with megawatt transmitters.

witch "shud be" which ;)

i will put wireless device in small ship over water and connect it to UUV by wire
can the wifi or xbee do what i want ? and what the maximum range ?
