hi!
I am a new bee in drives world. well i have started on with a servo drive for AC servo motor. its Ultraware 3000 drive,I really dont know whats the exact purpose of connecting a shunt resister( some times external and sometimes internal) for the operation of the drive.
Is this shunt resister mainly for the purpose of adding breaking capability...?
I believe shunt resister is a common thing for VFDs also.so will be really happy to know about the actual role of it with respect to the opereation of the drive.
