We are two senior students majoring in ECE. For our final year project, we are planning to design an RF Power Amplifier suitable for UAV operations. Our main goal is to have a power output larger than 1W. However, we have not been able to find a transistor that would fit our requirements (all the ones we looked had a high input voltage requirement, we want something that would have a 10V input or less). Therefore, as a solution we were planning to buy an already built RF power amplifier to be able to examine what transistor they used when building it. However, there is a risk of not being able to identify what transistor they have used. Here is the link to the amplifier we are planning to buy: https://www.alibaba.com/product-det...spm=a2700.galleryofferlist.0.0.16b87fa7ejnrul.
Boradcom had many Bipolar and pHEMT transistors for such applications but they made them obsolete. However they are are still available in the market and ADS Design Kits are still available at Broadcom.

I wish there were someone like you in our company, Are you an instructor or advisor somewhere? So extensive knowledge in RF/Microwave related stuff. Respect!
