Is that possible to replace RF Choke with Active Inductor in Power Amplifier (PA)? For info, active inductor have limit input dc voltage.

As we know, RF Choke can act as a current source in PA. So, can Active Inductor do so?

Active inductors are small signal devices. They will not substitute for inductors in power circuits. This is the same thing as thinking of using an active filter to remove the harmonics of a power amplifier.

flatulent...is active inductor is not recommended to use in PA, can it be used to LNA(low noise amplifier)? There some paper describing using active inductor in LNA but they only 1 active inductor eventhough they use 3-4inductor in the LNA. Other inductors, they used on-chip spiral or external inductor!

All of the active inductors I have seen were used in LC oscillators. They were not used for filtering power leads or signal paths.

There must be some risk on voltage drop for using active inductor on supply path of power amplifier in GSM HPA type. You must check the DC resistance of the inductor if really can be applied to power path.
