I have to design a magnetic card reader (like credit card). Any links on its format, interfacing and programming would be highly appreciated.

magnetic card reader post diagram

Hi TECHIE..

I did a design of a very UNUSUAL credit CARD .. We proved the CONCEPT but the company's owner died .. and the proyect got dismantled ..
We coated magnetically one side of the card .. and the reader will spin it becomming something like a hard drive or floppy .We were able to store 10 MB . .. If you need more insight just let me know ,,Regular magnetic strip credit card only allow 2k of data at most .. and there are chips with all the necessary to make it work ... basically you only add the CPU to handle the data!

I will try to get you that doc!

BTW, we have new PSoC-based magnetic card reader, if you interested on it I can sent directly or upload here.
