Hello,
I have a Masterguard A3000 UPS. Like this one: https://www.siemens.no/ccmi/bu/ea/pdf/Masterguard_A.pdf
The battery charging level LED are blinking once every 2 seconds. I have changed the batteries. I have MopUPS software with 30 days license. I have changed the date of changing batteryes but the battery charging level LED are still blinking and the MopUPS warn me to change the batteries.
Thank you.

Re: reset UPS Masterguard

Just a possibility... Does the unit care whether batteries are charged or uncharged when you install them?

Have you tried all different switch positions? Reset the alert? Plugged it into power? Plugged in a load?

Do you know how the unit detects that batteries needed replacing?

Can you fool the unit in some way, shape or manner? Can you add a voltage inline with the batteries, in order to make it think the batteries are healthy, or super-healthy?

Re: Help reset UPS Masterguard

I will try today with load. I thought it was a reset procedure like the APC trough HyperTerminal. I'll be back with new info.

Re: Help reset UPS Masterguard

Nope, the load trick did not work. I have tried with 800W load. In the MopUPS the battery is reported as 95% charged.
The battery were new and charged before installing.
Still no luck.

Re: Help reset UPS Masterguard

Did you try this: Unplug everything for 30 seconds, to give time for circuits to fall to zero? Then hook it all back up.

Just to make sure: Did you plug the load into UPS, and plug UPS into mains? So that the load is powered by mains? Did you then disconnect mains? Normally the UPS should take over at that point.

And I supposed you pressed the reset button/switch? Maybe a few buttons in combination? There may be a combination which resets the UPS, and the manufacturer didn't print it in the instructions.

The UPS may be able to detect whether your backup battery has high or low internal resistance. That may be how it determines whether the battery is acceptable. Try testing an alternate battery. Can you connect a car battery (or two if it's a 24 V system) to the internal connections of the UPS? This may not be easy to do. It is likely to have low internal resistance.

Problem solved.
I have received from "Masterguard.de" the software for reseting battery age. It's called "PPSet V2.0".
Thank you for your advices.

Re: Help reset UPS Masterguard

View attachment PPSet V2.0.zip
Try to use this programm with this key: 2680-331941-11410
If it's not working with this key you have to request a new programm and a new key from: **broken link removed**
Good luck.

Don't know if this will work, so... Try disconnecting the battery, and see if the unit starts up with power coming out of it.

Or remove the load. Or try a different load.

By changing a number of things, you might get the unit to act normally.

Re: Help reset UPS Masterguard

The password / key to use the PPSet V2.0 is written below the file. Read previous post above.

Re: Help reset UPS Masterguard

I think that "PPSet V2.0" that you posted doesn't need a password to run. Also for most functions it doesn't ask for a password. It asks only when you click on "Expert" and on that button the password 2680-331941-11410 doesn't work. I guess that is needed to reset the UPS configuration when new batteries are inserted in the ups.

Does anyone have that "Experts" password for PPSet v2.0, please? Thanks.

Re: Help reset UPS Masterguard

Sorry for the double post.

Actually through decompilation of that PPSet v2.0 Delphi application I found out that the "Experts" password is "Ich darf" (without quotes) and then calibration options appear.

Re: Help reset UPS Masterguard

Hello

I replaced the batteries in the UPS MasterGuard A2000-19 but it is in bypass mode and the battery indicator blinking. I need advice how to reset battery age with PPset.

I contacted Chloride support at **broken link removed** but they replied that i need contact Masterguard team in Erlangen Germany.

I wrote e-mail to info@masterguard.de but they sent me no answer.

I have downloaded PPset, but what serial cable I need ? Straight or somehow cross linked ?

Thank you for your answer

The cable must be straight.
Wait few days. Maybe somebody from masterguard will answer you.
