i wish to simulate the simple circuit like in the attachment, but i dont know which software is suitable whether i should use hfss, speed2000, ansoft 2d/3d...
(purple is reference plane and white is signal plane)
please provide the pro/con of the software or show me where should i refer to and advise me.
By the way where can i get a tutorial that teach us how to using the software?
thanks.
Spice is suitable for circuits, analog circuits. There is two, imho, very good tools :
Cadence PSPICE and Synopsys HSPICE.
If you want to simulate digital circuits, use Modelsim from Mentor
And for Signal Integrity on PCB with digital circuits , use Hyperlynx from Mentor
is there any thing named "ultiboard"?
what i know, is what i do :
Simulink : control circuits, mathematical resolution, signal processing and transmission...
SPICE: for little circuits using transistors and semiconductors (it is much mors powerful, but i don't have a better license)
PROTEUS: for the circuits including microcontrollers (but it have a bad ergonomy!!)
i hope, that helps.
It seems you are looking to simulate the traces,
holes, etc effects in the circuit. There is not point
to simulate this simple circuit in SPICE, workbecnh, etc
Two of the most used for this kind of problem are
HFSS or CST. There are others as well. Very expensive
if you are looking for a free software there are any to
my knowledge.
Hello, We have Mentor ICX for Single Line Integrity analysis. Also if you have any EMI issues, we have EMI Stream for EMI Check & Resonace analysis at the PCB design stage.
