Can I replace UC3524 with SG3524
What's your impression when you compare the datasheets? I always thought they are the same.

Comparing the datasheets it seems they are similar .Even in datasheet it is given that UC1524/2524/3524 are interchangeable with SG1524/
SG2524/SG3524, respectively but what I have read in George Chryssis book that UC1524 is an advanced version of SG1524.

I need some reassurance.

I assume a misunderstanding either of yours or the author. UC/SG3524A is slightly different from UC/SG3524, e.g. different common mode range of error amplifiers.
