Can I use a Notch Filter to remove the fundamental component from a current pattern of a non linear load so that I am left only with the harmonics current??

Hello,

basically yes, but the real answer is more complicated. As you have a non-linear circuit, affecting the fundamental, will affect the harmonics. Probably there will be difference in harmonic content between shorting (series resonant circuit to ground) the fundamental component or impeding it (via a parallel resonant circuit in series).

As you posted in Power Electronics, I assume that you are dealing with large voltage and current, so you may also have to consider transient behavior. .
