Regulator 7805 heating issue

HI friends ; I have problem regarding Regulator 7805 . In my circuit i m giving 12V input to 7805 and taking less than 0.5 A current at output but the regulator heat so much what is the problem
 

There is no problem, just physics. You are dissipating 3.5Watts across the 7805, OF COURSE it's going to get hot.
