hi all

i need to design a high pass filter with cutoff frequency is 0.5 HZ, can anyone tell me how to proceed?..

You haven't mentioned some important parameters such as the slope of the filter, the signal level etc, but try Texas Instruments Filterpro. It is a free filter design program which should get you started.
