Reference voltages in data converters

Hi, all.

How can I generate very accurate (e.g., 12 bit resolution ADC) reference voltage in data converters?

For example, in pipelined ADC, we don't need to have such high bit resolution reference voltage, however still quite accurate reference votlage is desired?

How typically generate reference votlage (e.g., in pipelined ADC)?

Any paper or book...or any drawings are welcome.

a supply voltage is given across a resistive ladder.... this supply voltage is usually a bandgap reference voltage so that temperature doesn't have any effect on the reference voltage....
 

Additonally,if you need some drive capability, you need add a high psrr and low noise buffer.
