Is it possible to replace the 35Z5GT with a silicon rectifier of similar ratings in an old radio?

For a basic rectifier connections yes you can, but keep in mind
the V out will be much higher with a semiconductor diode, so
the bulk caps used downstream must have a significantly higher
V rating. Depends on load. Some users add a high wattage R
to drop the V back to design value. Some users risk the cap
excess V.

If radio was wired series heater (filament) connections then you
have to sub a high wattage R to complete the filament string
supply. That R value depends on tube filaments in the chain.
