reading ethernet packets

Hi ! can any one inform me about any tool to read ethernet ip packets on my pc lan card ?? similarly generating such traffic for testing purpose!

only remember tcpdump at the moment, there are many. Search?
 

Use Ethereal, very pedagogic program.
 

this is a lan trafic viwer software
 

Ethereal is Very good tool for Networksniffing. It requires Libpcap.
