hi,

hope you know 8051 is working in +5v.

if you have 5V power supply u can give directly.
In case you have 12V power supply use 7805 votage converter ic.
The input of 7805 is 12V and output is 5V.

why is my project isn't working properly? When i turn it on, it doesn't show 12.00 am but it wil appear random number and change everytime. It doesn't work like a clock.

Can you explain the project about the connections. Are you using 7-seg driver or directly connected to the 8051 port pins.
If you are using directly then take care of the delays & continuously ON the 7-seg LED. Explain more about the program & the connections.
