DEAR FRIENDS

I have a Rain tipping bucket rain gauge as shown below in the uploaded photos. The Gauge has only two wires, thus i am wondering if those wires for the voltage source, how can i read the data??

Anticipated thanks

I would think that as the gauge tips, it closes a switch. Feed the wires via a 1K resistor from a 6V supply. The voltage will be high and pulse low as the gauge tips then comes up again. Each pulse represents a certain weight of water, which in turn represents so many mm of rain fall on the collecting funnel.
