PWM in microblaze to manage robot

I want to add PWM on microblze EDK to generate a mobile robot (forward and backward)
I don’t know if I'll do it with XPS timer or with VHDL IP

There are plenty of existing IP cores for PWM available (opencores.org), but it's also fairly simple to write it yourself in VDHL/Verilog.
