hi,all friends,
Recently,i find many people taking about the compatible SFP around me,and i am also interest in it,but I'm puzzled that how does SFP be compatible with other devices. For example, can i plug it into a cisco, hp, netgear or other switch Mini-GBIC port?

i have readed some material which says if a device requires coded SFP modules,so it may need either the OEM module or a compatible one.otherwise,if the device does not require coded SFP then we can use any SFP.it is ture? if it`s,can u give more details to me ?
