Why open drain is used in i2c instead of push pull mode

You are misinformed. RS-232 is most definitely NOT open-drain

Sorry i mistakenly said my question is why i2c uses open drain instead of push pull.
 

to make powerfull logic 0 and weak logic 1.
if you make booth powerfull then it can make short circuit while communication.
