spectrerf post-layout simulation

little bit confuse with two setup for RF simulation in SpectreRF

What is diffrence between Psin and Port source? When use Psin and when another-port?

Thanks.

spectrerf port

The difference is very simple: Port is more general power source than Psin.
With port you can set different signals, DC, sine, pulse, exp ... while with Psin is only sine, but both are power "oriented" source, with their input impedance (50 Ohm).

usage of port in spectre rf

Thanks.

Psin has so little use, why we need it? Could you explain it more?

spectre rf simulation

PSIN was an old component in analogLib.
PORT is relatively new component came from IC446 onwards.
cadence intorduced it to take care of customer requests
Hope this helps
