proximity sensor interfacing with mcu

I have pnp type proximity sensor with output current 200mA & want to interface it with mcu at89c51
please help me as I am confused about interfacing current output to mcu
Can we use relay & optocoupler if yes please send circuit or suggest any other possible way

If you only want to connect the output to your microcontroller,
you do not need to worry about the current. The current specification
is for those designer who want to drive a load directly.

A pull down resistor will be more than enough to interface to your microcontroller.

Some standard ways of interfacing npn or pnp transistor.

As long as you have understand the concept of using transistor as a switch,
you should be able to design the required interface.
