protection circuit

hello
I want to know what protection schemes can be inserted in front of analog input circuitry?
and the same for digital input circuitry?

Is there ICs for input circuit protrction?

Bye

several

There are several devices sold for this purpose. One is a shunt zener type circut. Many companies sell these. Harris is one. They clamp the voltage levels. A cheap thing is to put diodes from the line to the positive and negative power rails.

If your circuit can operate with a little series resistance in the signal lines, putting these in will limit the current from an over-voltage and in many cases prevent damage.

CMOS logic circuits should have a shunt resistor to drain off static charge when the input is left floating.
