[SOLVED] Project to replace CY7C64613 in the ICD2

Now I have programmed another different firmware called BOOTLOADERS.zip, and now my Pc detects the ICD2.. but MPLAB v7.50 says:

Connecting to MPLAB ICD 2
ICD0289: Unable to re-program ICD2 USB OS firmware.
ICD0021: Unable to connect with MPLAB ICD 2
MPLAB ICD 2 Ready

Please which is the correct firmware for Potyo2 and PiCS (Rev C) ??

I program the firmware of http://www.icd2clone.com/wiki/Main_Page but it doesn't works.. in my potyo2 and PiCS (Rev C)..

Please help me!

Lots of thanks!

I use PiCS Rev B, but it appears that Rev C is the same archive,
I'm not sure but you probably have done it already.
In PiCS, did you make sure -- 18F4550 MCLR Disabled,RE3 Enabled -- ?

When you try to connect do not power the target yet, if it say's connected
then you could power the target and reconnect.

I'm new with ICD thingy, so that's all I could offer.

BTW I'm using MPLAB 7.52, sometimes I have to plug/unplug the USB cable
before Mplab recognize it.
I use Winpic and MultiPic programmer combo.

Thanks, but I don't understand it: In PiCS, did you make sure -- 18F4550 MCLR Disabled,RE3 Enabled -- ?

How can I disable MCLR and enable RE3? I use a polivalent parallel port programmer and icprog.

In PiCS RevB archive there's a "Desc.txt".
I'm not familiar with IC-Prog but it seems that it accepts hex value for configuration bits, that's where you should set it. You might wanna try WinPic tho and see what I meant, with WinPic config bits are just drop down menu selectable.

Thanks picnoobie! I have programmed the PICs with WinPIC.
Now in the MPLAB I can read Target Vpp and MPLAB ICD2 Vpp, are around 12,5V.

Now, I haven't any target connected and when I try to doing the Self test:
Running ICD Self Test
... Failed Self Test. See ICD2 Settings (status tab) for details.

It is normal?

We apologize for any inconvenience.

Thanks!

Hi
In the Mplab go to the programmer - Settings and see the status of your IC2, you see something like that:
40msfbd.jpg

If the self test pass, then you icd2 is ready for programing the select pic, But if no pass, measure your voltages.

With no target, mplab indicates that MCLR Vdd and Target Vdd are LOW.
What can I do to solve it?

Thanks.

My ICD2 often disconnect after 1-2 minutes.

What would most probably be the problem with it?

Its built of Pics rev b.

Ivanovitx:

In my setup that's normal, because in Mplab I uncheck the box " Power target circuit from Mplab ICD2(5v VDD)"

look if your's is also uncheck. if so it's should work once you power your target.

Solved! Thanks, I have unchecked the box " Power target circuit from Mplab ICD2(5v VDD)"

Decoupling capacitors :?:

Here correct hexfile for 18F4550 of the PICS Clones with diabled MCLR.
I had a too low tension Vpp and had to change R1.

Thank you PICS for the brilliant Clone.

Thank you. Got your email aswell.

This works perfectly!

I made ICD2usb PiCS version B and put mine comments. Who is interested can read it on .

Thanks to all who did tremendous job with replace CY7C64613 in the ICD2.

Hi! I'm programing a PIC18F458 from CCS Can bus kit with PICS rev B, and if I don't disconect de ISCP connector, the pic's program doesn't run...
Is it all right?

If the ISCP connector is connected to PIC18F458, it resets continuosly...

Is a switch on the ISCP cable the solution ?

Lots of thanks!

What about hex for 16F877-20 I/P ?

I can't find it on preveosely pages!?!!

The hex for the 877a will be downloaded automagically from ICD2 software
