Dear All,

Please any one can suggest any low cost programmer for dspic33 micro controller. Presently I am using AVR micro controller Khazama USB programmer, which is freely available. Now i jump to dspic33. So any similar solution is available for dspic33 ?.

Thank you

Hi,

A Microchip Pickit2 will program some DSPic33, 30 and 32 but to cover the full range you need a Microchip Pickit3.

The Pickit2 can be used via Mplab or via its own Stand Alone Program which can burn quiet a few Dspics.

Also consider if you want to use them to Debug via MPlab, if so then the PK3 is the better choice.

There are Ebay clones of both, both get mixed reviews.

You could always build a diy version of the PK2 which has many threads/ versions /diagrams in this forum.

pk2 is nice but before using it, do check the firmware version.. since many a times the firmware is incompatible with the device..
