Jpeg encoder for DM640
Hello,
I am engaged in realization of jpeg encoder on dsp tms320dm640. For DCT calculation it has been used asm-coded function from TI's library imglib. Variable Length Coding (Huffman) is programmed on C similarly to IJG JPEG library (jpegsrc.v6b). It has appeared, what exactly this part of the encoder (VLC) demands too big time of calculation. This function is not present in imglib library. Can be there is more effective VLC algorithm (in C), than used in ijg jpeg library? Or someone can prompt a way of VLC optimization for the DM640 dsp? Any help can appear useful.
