just connect the programmer board through serial port and dont switch on programmer,
now press program button in flash magic, when it asks for reset > power on the board,

Hello niranjan23,

Please try this:
1) open Flash Magic tool
2) go for Options menu > Advanced Options
3) click on Hardware Config tab > Uncheck all the options
4) click on Misc tab click (check) on "disable device signature checking"
5) connect everything properly (check all the hardware once more)
6) verify your device, com port, baud rate properly
7) now try to do it... you may get success this time

All the best... :)

If you are trying to program P89V51RD2 by ISP method using RS232,
then do not select the box naming USE DTR FOR RESET in Flash magic ->options ->Advance options -> H/w Config

Hello try this setting for flash magic

1. now check reset pin whether it gets correct response. means when u press reset keys then it should give 5volt and after releasing key voltage should be 0

2. Check connection between max232 and controller.

and if you post your circuit diagram it will help us.

Regards.

when data is ready to send via serial then DTR pin is give pulse to the controller so no need to reset via key. That is when u start burning firmware then controller automatically start recieving.
