Hello guys,
I started using Altium Designer release 10 , and i'm following some tutorial in Youtube. The probleme is in the tutorials when they choose a component you can see it foot print in 3D, but for me it's not the same! it's only in 2D . See the pictures attached plz! :) 1.JPG2.JPG

But All the footprint are not in 3D for me! even if I choose the same footprints as the tutorial! :/

You should see the pads in 3d as a minimum.

Schematic Library:
In the little window in the bottom right, there is a hammer icon. Click this and select 3d.

PCB Library:
When your footprint is fully defined, press '3'
Hold shift and right mouse button to rotate.
Hold ctrl and right mouse button to zoom in/out.

To add a shape body onto the footprint, the height needs to be defined as a minimum.
The menu Place->3D Body will allow you to define a shape ontop of the pad.
Most realistic 3d shapes come from step files which can be imported in the same dialog Place->3d body->Generic Step Model->Embed Step Model.

Have fun :)
