I have this transistor " BLF6G21-10G " for my thesis.
I downloaded the model for ADS from here:
**broken link removed**
I downloaded the model but the Model needed some requirement as following:
"Model requires the RF LDMOS DesignKit library to be present (not included in the model distribution). To download it, visit:
**broken link removed**
Refer to the table to select the appropriate file.
Please install the RFLDMOS DesignKit library before installing the model."
I checked the website and there was compatible version with ADS 2011:lol:
So I downloaded and unzipped "NXP_RFLDMOS_v10p05_ADS2011.zip",
there was a file "lib.defs" in that folder so i easily added it to ADS 2011 but of coarse there was no " BLF6G21-10G " in it.
Then I unzipped "BLF6G21-10G.zip". but I don't know what to do with that?!?! There is no *.defs in that I searched it all. :?: what should I do next?
could anyone manage to see BLF6G21-10G in ADS schematic?
BLF6G21-10G.zip is compatible only with ADS2009U1 and prior, that's why it can not be used with ADS2011.
In order to use this particular model library, NXP_RFLDMOS_V10p05_ADS2008 PDK should be installed first with ADS2009U1 or prior then you should install BLF6G21-10G.zip as a Library.
I hope you understand..
All you need is here **broken link removed** ....
Just find NXP_BLF6G21_10G_V0p10s_B4.s4p , extract it and use as simply S4P file... Yep, you'll be maybe missed original footprint and drawing, but at least you'll be able to simulate.
It has been like that for 2 years between NXP & Agilent since the advent of ADS-2011. 2 years are a long time for product support, consider how fast other companies adapt their models to support Agilent. No one gave me a straight answer why these 2 don't work with each other. So I came up w/ my own solution a year ago.
1) NXP isn't the only company on earth making RF transistors.
2) ADS-2011 isn't the only simulation on earth.
3) 1 & 2 are exclusive or of each other.
If you unzip the file, you wil find the s4p file here: NXP_BLF6G21_10G_V0p10s\circuit\data\NXP_BLF6G21_10G_V0p10s_B4.s4p
And that can, of course, be used with ADS2011 or other simulators.
I am assuming that anyone designing PA wants to have access into a non-linear model. The only way to access to non-linear models with NXP RF power components (like BLF6G21, BLF881 etc) is using ADS-2009U1 or below. Or MWO.
I have the same problem with BLL6H1214-500 of NXP in ads 2009. RF LDMOS library and model library is compatible for ads 2009 but I can not simulate this transistor
