make a positive and negative power supply

I need a power supply with +20V and -20V 3A
The LM338 is an excelent and cheap positive regulator for this but a negative version is not available.
Is it possible to use a positive regulated, isolated LM338 circuit (and transformer) and connect the +20 to the ground of the positive version.
So gnd becomes -20V?

Mark.

positive and negative power supply

Sure Mark!
If you have transformer isolation, you have nothing to worry about. Go right ahead!

To make a dual supply, you need a dual-secondary transformer and two identical circuits, configured like the attached picture ..
