Dear all,

I have questions about low-IF scheme. If I decide to have about 5MHz IF in the system, can you help to compare below?

1. Quadrature mixer+analog polyphase filter -> IF output -> ADC -> digital quadrature mixing

2. Quadrature mixer -> IF I/Q output -> ADC -> digital mixing

If the clock of ADC should be 4 times of IF frequency? How will the power consumption, silicon area, difference in the 2 systems above? Do I need digital decimation filter in both schemes?

Thanks, Alex
