Hi,

Is there a way to place note text in a Cadence Allegro PCB layout design?
In altium I used to place a lot of text note on mechanical and other layers, now in Allegro I cant find a menu option to do that.

Add>>Text.

If you are asking of something else, please elaborate.

actually i have found it, it was not add>text. add>text works in the footprint symbol editing mode, but i have not seen it in the pcb boaard editing mode. i found something like tools>xxx.

I am using 16.3 and it is very much there in PCB editing mode, which version are you using.
as you have got the solution it will be very nice of you if you can share that with other memebers also rather than typing "xxx"

Dear buenos;
you place text in symbole; you must know you add it in wich class and Subclass you can do it by Display Element and select text only from Find Menu the pop up window will tell you this text in which class and subclass.

in the Brd file you must show this layer you will find the text which you add.

for any other help please reply to me.

I dont have an "add" menu. its 16.5. What I used instead was the "setup>notes"

Hi ;
i hope you fine;

Setup>notes this mean you use Allegro PCB SI or Allegro PCB PI Editor
you can change editor by select File>change Editor and select Allegro PCB Desigen with any option XL or GXL after that you will find add menu
please reply if you need any thing.

Best Regardes.
