Hi,
I am using the pic 18f45k22 microcontroller using 5V supply and the MCLR circuit i have given as
MCLR CIRCUIT.JPG

After i powered up my device voltage at mclr with respect to Vss is measured as 1.5V.
I thought the resistance R1 is less so i changed to 22K. Then also i got 1.5V at MCLR.

Then i suspect the pic ic then i changed another new pic ic. This too leads the same 1.5V at MCLR.

I think due to this lower voltage the controller does not running the code in it.

Can somebody give me a solution for this?

Thanks,
Murugesh

Hi,

Have you got your CONFIG line set to MLCRE = ON, otherwise it will be trying to use it as a Digital Port

Hi,

The Pin1 circuit is as old as the hills and does work fine, so you either have a hardware fault or something wrong with your program code / programming routine.

Two things to try, just pull up pin1 with the resistor only and see if your program runs or it shows +5v.

Second thing is make MCLRE=OFF so it does not need anything on pin1, does your program now run ?

If that does not work, then post your code, full schematic and details of what programmer you are using.
