hi...i need to connect proximity sensor(NPN)...5-30v DC...to calculate the RPM....for one step (0-5v) & one min RPM...with that stop sec or pulses....

hi-compiler...pic16F877A....
give step or code ...to calculate...

I will recommend you to connect your proximity sensor with your controller interrupt and read your interrupt by setting your timer to 1 sec or 10 sec then multiply your result with 60 or 6 as per setting of your timer.
