pic project doubt

hi,
i am a beginner in embedded programming. i want to display dc and ac input voltages in LCD. i choose pic 16f877a as my controller. plz help me to complete this project

Check if ur PIC has analog ports u can use them to sense the dc voltage through some cntrl cktry ,it can sense 0 to 5 volts and then updates the analog buffer in the range of 0 1024 ..or if it has 10 bit adc , and then display it on the LCD .U can use simulation software such as proteus to great help .
 

Beware you also need to know what is the maximum voltage you want to detect and build a voltage divider acordingly, and connect it into the ADC pin.
