I have used Icprog to programme PICs for many years.

However, I recently purchased a 16F684 and it is not covered by Icprog.

Does anyone know how I can add a 16F684 to Icprog?

If not, does anyone know of other PIC programming software that is free?

Any assistance will be appreciated.

For microchip the best choice is Pickit2/3, but I recomend you to forget about PIC and start using STM8. Debugger cost 5$ and cover all stm8/stm32 microcontrollers, allow you to debug your code in realtime. Debugging is imposible with your icprog and even with Pickit is also difficult.

I ve used USBPICPROG for many years and it did program all. Pic microcontrollers including PIC16F684
