Hello
In my Area 89C51 of Atmel is not available. The Philips version is available. Will it can be programmed using the same programmer for Atmel?
If not suggest a programmer please!
Thanks
Picstudent

no, you can't use atmel programmers to burn down codes for other kind of MCUs.

maybe you can try a Universal Programmer. it can burn codes on many MCUs. but quite expensive.

here's one of the universal programmer:

On philips site you can find everything you need (schematics, programmer ,...)

hello
Thanks for the FlashMagic link.
My philips 89c51 is written as 'P89C51X2BN'. Is it serial programmable with Flash Magic?.Or is it the parrelel programable version?
DataSheet seems to be confusing for me!!
Thanks in Advance.

Salam Picstudent,

I have no experience with Philips uC.

But when i look to its features

**broken link removed**

I found it seems that there is no ISP (In System Programming) feature available :-(

So it will program in the normal way (parallel programming)

Bye

Hi Sphinx

ISP programming feature is available in 89S51 and not in 89C51.

Salam ramesh,

I know that but 'Picsudent' talk about Philips series microcontrollers NOT Atmel series.

Bye

Salam
I am little bit confused.See the link below. What does it mean?

https://www.esacademy.com/software/flashmagic/

Ok that this device is not supported. Then what could be done? I have searched a lot .But could not find a solution.Any other programmer for philips controllers?

Thanks for reply.

Salam,

I can't see "P89C51X2BN" in the supported devices.
So you can't program it using flashmagic.

Bye
