I've read Texas Instrument's datasheet of PGA2311 Stereo Volume Control IC. Now, it must reside on two separated ground polygons, AGND (Analog GND) and DGND (Digital GND). My question is, can on DGND (Digital GND) beside PGA2311 reside microprocessor driving and some other digital IC, for example, I2C port expander. Is it ok if they all reside on same DGND (Digital GND) plane/polygon?

Sincerely,
M.

Hi,

Yes, this is how it should be.

Does this also apply for +5V (DIGITAL) rail, can I feed PGA2311 and other mentioned ICs with this single rail?

Hi,

Yes. For sure it should not be unnessesarily dirty.
PSRR talks about 25Hz. Thus proper HF decoupling and a good bulk capacitor should be used.
A series resistor or inductor could improve noise suppression.
