PCB desgign compliant with Ex proof standards.

Hi to all,

During R&D of a new product I have faced the request that the PCB will be used in harsh environments and must be compliant with Ex proof standards (area with high risk of an explosion).
Do anyone has any idea what are the requirements to be compliant?

I know that a few things can be secured with 3 diodes in serial and resistors. Am I right?

Any help is appreciated.

I don't know what the thing with 3 diodes and resistors is about, but you might look at parts for stringent and/or military requirements. For example: WIMA capacitor series MKB and MIL spec connectors and enclosures. E

You seem to ask about design for intrinsic safety, specified e.g. in IEC 60079-11. It's a good idea to learn first about general explosion protection concepts before diving into the details.
