Hello,
While the computer is connected to internet which types of data is or number code goes through it for identifying the PC .
like IP address is there is something more?
and how to edit PC IP is it stored in ROM?

Perhaps you are talking about the MAC identifier (Media Access Control)? (It is not particular to Macintosh computers.)

As I understand it, every computer is given a unique number when manufactured.

Can we edit it??
and why they give unique number?

MAC Address is hardcoded, it cannot be changed.
A MAC address is represented in double digit Hexadecimal code, for example, 0a:1b:2c:3d:4e:5f.
The first three digits are manufacturer fixed, the remaining, they vary from device to device.
If MAC address were to be same for two devices, then there will be no way to uniquely distinguish them.

if the network you are connected too allows it you can use a static IP address
e.g. do a web search for "static IP addresses"
